Janakpurdham, March 22:

The patients and visitors have to pay five rupees while entering the In-patient Department of the Janakpur Zonal Hospital.

This is the first government-run hospital to charge fees for entering the In-patient Department. Medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Lakhan Lal Shah, imposed this new rule to make the hospital financially competent. The In-patient service was initiated here in October. However, due to lack of health workers, patients are facing problems, patients said. The doctors of the hospital have also protested the new rule.
