House catches fire while setting fire to hornet nest

POKHARA: A house caught fire while the residents were trying to set fire to a hornet nest built on the wall in Shantipatan of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan-6 in Kaski district on Monday night.

Property worth around Rs 1.6 million including furniture and materials were gutted in the house fire.

No human casualties have been reported, said police.

According to Baidam Ward Police Office, Krishna Bahadur Kunwar, owner of the house, sought help from neighbouring manual workers to destroy the nest that was built outside the window.

Police personnel with the help of locals and firefighters doused the fire at around 1:00 am today.
