KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives is now dissolved with President Bidya Devi Bhandari approving government's recommendation forwarded earlier today.

The President, along with the approval of government's recommendation, has also declared fresh elections to be held in two rounds on April 30 and on May 10.

Issuing a statement on Sunday, December 20, the Office of the President stated that President has approved the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, stepping on Article 76 (1) and (7) and Article 85 of the constitution.

Earlier on Sunday, following the emergency meeting summoned by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the cabinet had decided to recommend house dissolution. The decision came in the wake of deepening crisis within the ruling Nepal Communist Party.
