House for elderly citizens constructed in Palpa
RAMPUR: A 20-roomed house for elderly citizens has been constructed at a pilgrimage site of Radha Damodar Aroygya Ashram in Saankhar of Palpa district.
The two-storey building which could accommodate as many as 50 people was constructed at the cost of Rs 8.5 million, according to the Elderly House Secretary Lekhnath Bastakoti.
It is currently providing residential facility to 35 senior citizens who hail from Papla, Syangja, Tanahun, Nawalparasi and Kaski.
Secretary Bastakoti shared that the government provided Rs 6.3 million while other financial assistance were provided by various local organisations.
Also, a yajna (ritual done in front of fire) was performed to raise funds to construct the shelter.
