House has no power to amend statute: Rana
Kathmandu, December 28:
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chairman Pashupati SJB Rana today said that since the interim parliament does not have the people’s mandate, it cannot make any major decision that is against the public.
“This parliament has no right to make major decisions,” Rana told a press conference at the RPP parliamentary party office, Singha Durbar, this morning.
He asked the government to improve the law and order situation in Tarai and to
focus on holding the Constituent Assembly (CA) election.
Rana urged the government to withdraw the amendment in the interim constitution.
“Let the CA decide on the fate of monarchy,” he said, adding that the Rastriya Prajatantra Party would accept the decision of the constituent assembly.
