Houses built for single women, poor families

Khotang, June 3

Houses for single women and impoverished people of 13 families were constructed during the masonry training conducted in Khotang.

As many as 13 houses have been completed during the 50 days of masonry training imparted with partnership between Helvetas Nepal and Multi skill and Environment Development Private Limited, Kathmandu. Five houses were constructed in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality and eight in Rawabesi Rural Municipality.

District coordinator Keshab Panthi of Multi Skill and Environment Development Pvt Ltd, Khotang said the earthquake resistant houses for single women, disabled and impoverished ones were constructed during practical classes of masonry training.

Earthquake resistant houses were constructed for single women Naina Kumari Rai and Kumari Pariyar, among others, of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality.

Coordinator Panthi said the participants at the training had constructed the wall of the houses and Rs 20,000 was offered to each household for the construction of roofs.
