Human chain for total Press freedom

Journalists and human right activists demonstrated by forming a human chain (manab sanglo), demanding total press freedom at Sirjana chowk today. Political leaders, human rights organisations’ activists , students and civilians all participate. The human chain was

kept intact for 15 minutes, according to the third phase programme of Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Kaski, said Dipendra Shrestha, member of the Mechi-Mahakali Media Society.The FNJ central committee had called for a protest rally for the district-based units outside the valley, demanding the restoration of press freedom, said Rabindra Bastola, president of Kaski-based FNJ.
