Human remains found in Langtang

RASUWA: Remains of a foreigner, who was missing after an avalanche in Langtang region after the devastating earthquake on April 25, were found on Friday. Police suspect that the human remains could be of a French national Renelouis Dutreve. According to District Police Office, Rasuwa, French passport (14 DI 17741) was recovered for the site. It is learnt that the human remains have been sent to TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu.

Elderly drowns

HETAUDA: An elderly person died after he drowned into the Rapti River in Hetauda Municipality in Makawanpur on Saturday morning. The deceased has been identified as Krishna Thapa, 80, of Namatar VDC. He was heading towards Bhainse VDC from Hetauda Municipality to meet his relatives. Police said the incident occurred while Thapa was crossing the flooded river in the morning. His body was found 100 metres down, said police.

Van kills minor

RAUTAHAT: A minor was killed on after a van hit her at Kabirchowk of Gaur Municipality in Rautahat on Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Priti Kumari Sahani, 5, of the municipality. Police have arrested the van driver Loknath Ghimire of Simrabhawanipur VDC.
