Hundreds of passengers stranded in Doti transport strike
DHANGADHI: Locals have halted the vehicular movement today along the Dr KI Singh Highway, demanding compensation for the child who died in a tractor-hit in Doti district on Sunday.
Earlier, Biswas Khati (3) of Khati Gaun of Shikhar Municipality-7 had died on the spot after being hit by the tractor (Se 2 Ta 908) in Rajpur Bazaar.
The relatives of the deceased have blocked the highway at Kulpate by placing stones and logs on the road, claiming Rs 1,200,000 in compensation from the tractor owner.
Due to the transport strike, dozens of vehicles plying the route to Achham and Bajura from Tarai and hundreds of passengers travelling in them are stranded in a jam in Kulpate of the district.
Meanwhile, a talk with the deceased's relatives is ongoing for opening the road, informed Dil Bahadur Kunwar, Incharge of Area Police Office, Dipayal.
