HURPES report on Gaur killings

Kathmandu, March 31:

The Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) has asked the government to identify the culprits of the March 21 Gaur massacre and bring them to book immediately to make sure

that such incidents do not recur.

Though MJF claimed that its movement will be peaceful, the movement was not peaceful, the HURPES said in its report on the Gaur massacre, which was made public today. Blaming the local administration for not being negligent, it has suggested the government to adopt “extreme caution” to avoid such incidents. The HURPES has also advised the government to immediately ratify the Rome Statue of the International Criminal Court to put an end to impunity. It has also called on the government to organise a round-table conference to discuss the demands of agitating factions.
