Idols stolen from Jumla temple recovered

JUMLA: A dozen idols of various gods and goddesses that were reportedly stolen from Jumla-based Chandannath Temple on November 26 have been recovered from the bank of a local river, police said.

The statues recovered from Dhungri riverbank this morning include those of Hindu gods Bishnu, Ganesha and Balgopal made from bronze, two statues of Lord Buddha, a statue featuring Buddha meditating, a statue showcasing gods Krishna and Balgopal jointly holding a flute, a statue of Hanuman made from iron and two statues of goddess Bhagawati made from bronze and copper, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Guru Bishnu Kafle.
