Illicit relationship takes away two innocent lives in Baglung
POKHARA: A 22-year-old youth, who was allegedly indulged in an illicit relationship with a 23-year-woman, has reportedly murdered two innocent children of his 'beloved' in Baglung on Wednesday.
Bhim Bahadur Bhandari of Devisthan in Baglung district was reportedly in love with Kamala Gharti of Sanojiri in Bohoro Gaun-7 in the district.
Bhandari was mad in love with Gharti and wanted to elope in order to start a new life with her. However, the woman was not ready as she was a mother of two children, six-year-old daughter Samundra and three-year-old son Manoj.
Meanwhile, Bhandari had other ideas. To clear all obstructions likely to come against his plan, he strangled two children and set the house on fire. The fire turned the house into cinder in the blink of an eye, preliminary investigations of police revealed.
To skip any suspicion over him, Bhandari himself asked for help with the villagers to salvage belongings from the house, police added.
Instantly, the villagers pulled two minors, but could not save them.
Inspector Shree Krishna Paudel at the Baglung District Police Office said police had reached the site only to see the cinder.
Gharti, however, was not present at the house during the incident, according to Paudel.
Meanwhile, police detained Bhandari and Gharti after the incident.
During the interrogation, Bhandari confessed his involvement in the murder of two innocent minors.
However, he did not reveal whether Gharti had any hand in the plot.
Police had presented the duo before the District Court, which remanded them in custody for 10 days for further investigation.
It has been learned that Gharti’s husband is in Malaysia for employment.
