KATHMANDU, MAY 7

For the first time in the history of Nepali Army, two infantry personnel made it to the top of the world's third highest peak this morning.

Captain Raju Shrestha and Jawan Amit Thapa crated history by successfully scaling Mt Kanchenjunga, Babu Sherpa, Managing Director at Peak Promotion Pvt Ltd, informed. The duo, being part of the cleaning campaign, were the first from NA to scale the 8586m peak Sherpa who organized their expedition said

The NA team was accompanied by

Chhiring Jangbu Sherpa (IFMGA guide), Furba Sherpa, Ngima Chhiring Sherpa and Chhewang Sherpa.

Amit Kumar Negi from India along with Tek Rai from Peak Promotion also scaled the mountain this morning, he said.

Dawa Sherpa, Manager at Imagine Nepal Treks said renowned climber Mingma Gyalje Sherpa along with foreign and Nepali climbers also scaled Mt Kanchenjunga this morning.
