The Indian Embassy donated a bus to Durga Secondary School, Kalaiya, on Thursday. Indian envoy to Nepal, Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, handed over the vehicle’s key to school principal Jagat Narayan Thakur at the consulate office, Birgunj.

One shot dead

BARA: An unidentified gang shot dead Upendra Jayaswal, 26,of Bariyapur-1, Bara, on Thursday night. Locals said the group shot him when he raised an alarm to foil their abduction

attempt. The victim was closing his mill for the day when the incident occurred. An injured Jayaswal was rushed to Narayani Sub-regional Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead at 10 pm. Police have launched a hunt for the gang. — HNS
