India for India-Kathmandu rail link, says BJP leader Koshyari

Kathmandu, February 26

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Bhagat Singh Koshyari has said India was for linking Kathmandu with Indian rail.

Koshyari, who is currently on a visit to Nepal, underscored the need to realise development and prosperity in both India and Nepal by strengthening bilateral ties.

During an interaction organised by Reporters’ Club here today, Koshyari, who is also the coordinator from India for the Eminent Persons’ Group formed by the two countries, observed that it was a big achievement that Nepal got a new government through the exercise of democratic system.

According to him, Nepal-India relations are deeply ingrained in the political and people’s levels. He expressed confidence the newly formed government in Nepal would meet the high expectations that people have placed on it.

He further opined cyber crime and other security related issues and development could be addressed with collaboration and cooperation. The Indian leader informed that discussions on two-country ties were held with various leaders including Prime Minister Oli.
