India moots mutual trade agreement
New Delhi, April 28:
India has proposed Nepal to accept mutual trade agreement based on the bilateral economic ties existing between the two countries.
Union Minister for Commerce and Energy for State Jayaram Ramesh proposed this during the conclusion of a two-day seminar on “Emerging trends in Nepal-India relations” organised in Bihar’s Patna.
Ramesh said India was willing to change the existing business and commercial model and start a new one for the benefit of both countries.
“If accepted, this proposal would certainly help Nepal reduce the trade deficit it is facing,” the Indian minister added.
According to a Nepali representative, Nepal has not given a final reply to the proposal, adding that Nepal would do its best to face the upcoming challenges regarding bilateral ties between the two countries.
