Indian aid for surgeries

Kathmandu, August 27:

India has pledged Rs 36.13 million for performing 15,000 cataract and 1,200 Trachomatous Trichiasis surgeries in various districts under the National Eye Sight Programme.

The Embassy of India and Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh signed a MoU to this effect on Tuesday, the embassy.

Meanwhile, Japan has decided to extend financial assistance of Rs 3.59 million for the alleviation of difficulties of working children in Laltipur. The Japanese embassy said in a statement that Shapla Neer-Citizens’ Committee in Japan will execute the project in coordination with a local NGO.
