Indian aid to 2 more schools
KATHMANDU: Two separate memorandum of understandings were signed today between the Embassy of India and District Development Committee of Dhanusha and Ramechhap.
As per the MoUs, the government of India has agreed to provide assistance for the development of educational infrastructure in two schools of the districts.
India will provide NRs 2.52 crore to Shree BP Koirala Secondary School, Sapahi-7 in Dhanusha for the construction of two-storeyed school building and furniture, lab equipment and computers. Nearly 900 students have been studying in the school.
Likewise, a grant of NRs 2.64 crore will be provided to Shree Manthali Higher Secondary School, Manthali-2 in Ramechhap for the construction of four-storeyed school building, compound wall and other facilities. The school caters to the educational needs of more than 2,250 students.
According to the Indian Embassy, these projects are being undertaken in response to the request from the respective DDCs and in consultation with the government of Nepal. As per the MoUs, the projects will be implemented by the respective DDCs.
The local authorities will be fully responsible for the quality and timely completion of the projects, said a press statement issued by the embassy.
