Narender Singh Yadav, an Indian climber, has set a new record by scaling Mt. Everest in just six days.

The expedition, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Fastest Everest Expedition-2022, completed the journey from base camp to the summit and back in six days, Yadav said in a statement.

Yadav began his campaign on May 20 after acquiring the permit. On May 21, he flew directly to Everest Base Camp and left for Camp 2 at 1:00 am on May 22. He proceeded to Camp 3 on May 25 after resting for two days in Camp 2. After resting for the night in Camp 3, he set off towards Camp 4 at midday and reached at 2:00 pm.

He pushed for the final ascent around 9:30 pm, after resting for a few hours, and reached the summit at 5:02 am on May 27. He celebrated the success by singing the Indian national anthem at the top.

He made it to the top with the help of our Sherpas, Pasang Sherpa, Chairman at Pioneer Adventure which organsied the expedition said.

Narender Singh Yadav was banned from mountaineering for six years for falsely claiming of scaling the world's highest mountain in 2016. His expedition certificate was also revoked.

The dream of Yadav, from Nehrugarh village in India's Rewari district, is to enter the Guinness Book of World Records by conquering all seven continents. Narender has climbed the highest summits on five continents so far including Mt. Everest, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Elbrus, Mt. Kosciuszko, and Australia's ten highest peaks, as well as Mt. Aconcagua, South America's highest peak, the statement further states.

His next targets are Denali, North America's highest peak, and Vinson, Antarctica's highest peak.
