Indian driver thrashed
BHAIRAHAWA: An Indian driver suffered minor injuries after locals thrashed him near Belhiya border in Rupandehi district on Monday afternoon.
According to police inspector Rabin Babu Regmi posted at border police post Belhiya, an Indian driver, who was under influence of alcohol, was thrashed after he engaged in a heated discussion with locals after entering Nepal from Sunauli in India. “Police brought him to a local medical clinic for treatment after rescuing him from the mob,” he said.
The driver has already returned to Sunauli and also met Indian District Magistrate Sri Srivastava, according to Regmi.
