Indian envoy Rae embarks on five-day Manang visit
BESISHAHAR: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae on Friday embarked on a five-day visit to the trans-Himalaya district, Manang.
During the visit, Ambassador Rae would monitor the Tarey Monastery, currently under-construction in the district with the financial support of around Rs 30 million from the Indian Embassy in Nepal, it has been learnt.
Ambassador Rae's helicopter had landed in Manang at 10:45 am today.
Although the Ambassador was scheduled to land in remote village of Phu, the programme was cancelled due to bad weather condition, said Chief District Officer Ganja Bahadur MC.
During his stay in the district, the Ambassador is scheduled to visit the Ice Lake, historic Milareppa's Cave and Gangapurna of Manang, he added.
