KANCHANPUR: Police nabbed an Indian national with banned Indian currency notes from Belauri Municipality-8 in the district.

Acting on a special tip off, police arrested Satman Singh (55), a resident of Pilibhit Gram Rajapuri Thana of India, with the banned Indian notes on Sunday evening.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Krishna Raj Ojha at District Police Office, Kanchanpur, shared that police recovered Indian currency notes worth Rs 200,000 of Rs 500 denomination.

Investigation into the incident is underway, police informed.
