JITPUR, KAPILVASTU: An Indian national was killed when a bus hit his motorcycle in Kapilvastu Municipality-8 along Taulihawa-Bhairahawa road section here on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Gauri Shankar Chaurasia, a resident of Siddharthanagar, India.

The incident occurred when the bus (Lu 1 Kha 3734) en route to Taulihawa collided head-on with the motorcycle (UP 55 U 3564) at Dohani of the road section, killing Chaurasia on the spot, according to District Police Office, Kapilvastu.

Chaurasia's body has been taken to the District Hospital in Taulihawa for postmortem.

Meanwhile, the bus has been impounded and its driver detained for further investigation, according to police.
