Indian President accepts President Bhandari's invitation to visit Nepal

JAPAN: Indian President Ram Nath Kovind has accepted the invitation extended by President Bidya Devi Bhandari to pay a visit to Nepal.

Both the presidents of the neighbouring nations who are attending the enthronement proclamation ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito held a meeting today in Tokyo, where Indian President accepted the invitation from President Bhandari.

Earlier, Indian President visited Nepal when he was a member of the Indian parliament.

On the occasion, both sides expressed their satisfaction on Nepal-India relations and also expressed determination to make it wider and multi-dimensional.

The two Presidents also discussed on the rapid progress of the projects being executed in Nepal with the Indian assistance and noted that the early construction of petroleum pipeline was an exemplary work, informed Foreign Affairs Secretary, Shanker Das Bairagi.

Present in the meeting were Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Nepali Ambassador to Japan, Prateeva Rana. Likewise, Foreign Secretary Bijaya Gokhle and Indian Ambassador to Japan Sanjaya Barma attended the meeting from the Indian side.
