Indian security personnel accused of obstructing culvert construction
KANCHANPUR: The construction of a culvert along an under-construction road in Basai of Punarbas Municipality-8 in Kanchanpur district has been hindered for two days due to the alleged obstruction of Indian security personnel.
As many as 12 Indian security personnel carrying arms arrived at the construction site two days ago and ordered that the construction of culvert be stopped claiming it to be being built on the Indian side, according to the Municipality Executive Officer Sher Bahadur Budha.
Budha also clarified that the place where the culvert was being constructed was on the Nepali side and it was 100 metres away from the border.
Towards the resolution of the issue, a team of local authorities including Budha and the Kanchanpur Chief District Officer has left for India to discuss the issue with the concerned Indian border officials and border security authority.
