KATHMANDU: An Indian septuagenarian along with six-year-old child completed the Everest base camp trekking appealing more Indians to come to Nepal for hiking in the Everest region, organizers said.

Jit Kumar Kaushal ( DOB: 1944-06-01) along with Shaurya Sanskar Damle (DOB: 2017-02-06) completed EBC trek in just 12 days, Himalayan Social Journey said.

According to Ram Prasad Sapkota, Chairman at Himalayan Social Journey, the message of the duo's hiking is 'EBC is accessible to all'.

Sapkota further said that the number of Indian tourists has been increasing in the country. "From Himalayan Social Journey alone, over 500 Indian trekkers completed EBC hike this season," he added.

After completing the trek, Jit Kumar from Punjab said, "Without any difficulty, the trek was a fun and I had a great desire to do this, I never give up."

Six-year-old Shaurya from Pune also made to the EBC without having any problem, he added.
