DHANGADHI: One youth lost his life and another sustained injuries after a scooter they were riding on was hit by a truck in Dhangadhi on Monday.

The deceased was scooter rider Deepak Chaudhary (21) of Attariya, according to DSP Dilip Singh Bhandari. Binaya Chaudhary, who was on the pillion ride, was injured in the incident and is receiving treatment at the Seti Zonal Hospital.

According to police, the truck with Indian licence plate (TN 52 A 6979) hit the scooter (Ma 1 Pa 9654) at Milan Chok this afternoon.

Police have taken the truck driver along with the truck in custody.
