Injured agitator in dire need of monetary support

Rajbiraj, January 14

Bhuwaneshwor Sah of Rajbiraj, Saptari, who was injured in police firing during the Madhes agitation, is facing problems getting treatment due to lack of fund.

The 32-year-old was seriously injured after he was shot in the stomach during police firing in Rupani Bazaar on November 21.

The incident occurred during a highway-centred agitation held by United Democratic Madhesi Front.

“They also shot at Nageshwor Yadav of Jamuni-Madhepura-9 when he came to support me upon seeing me collapse as the bullet hit me and then they fell on me with the butt of their guns and rained kicks until I blacked out,” recounted Bhuwaneshwor, who was rushed to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health and Sciences, where he regained consciousness.

After being discharged from BPKIHS, Bhuwaneshwor is now resting at his home in Rajbiraj-7.

While doctors have removed a part of the intestine that had ruptured due to the bullet wound, a pouch has been affixed to the lower part of his body to facilitate the passage of stool from his body.

According to the patient’s brother Prameshwor Mandal, Bhuwaneshwor needs others’ support to move.

“He has problem in his back and his right leg too doesn’t move and I’ve closed my business and come to support him in this hour of need,” said Prameshwor, urging all for financial help for his treatment.
