Interim govt in Kartik first week: Nepal

CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal today said an interim government would be formed in the month of Kartik.

Speaking at a press meet organised by the Kaski chapter of Press Chautari here,

he said: “An interim government including the Maoists will be formed in the first week of Kartik.”

Nepal said: “The upcoming summit talks of September 28 will decide the date for the election to the constituent assembly, formation of an interim government, final draft of an interim constitution, a referendum, the code-of-conduct and protection of human rights, among other issues.”

Nepal said the government had set aside Rs 100 million for the constituent assembly polls, adding that the draft of the interim constitution would be approved soon.

“Maoist supremo Prachanda, during a meeting of CPN-UML, NC, NC-Democratic and Maoists today, said there won’t be any problem in arms management,” said Nepal.

Flaying the Thai coup, Nepal said the Maoists are apprehensive about a coup in Nepal too. “There is no possibility of any such coup here,” Nepal said.
