Interim govt should go, says MJF
Janakpurdham, October 28:
President of the Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF) Upendra Yadav said today that the legitimacy of the interim parliament and the government has ended after the failure to hold the CA polls on schedule. He called for their dissolution and the formation of a new interim government.
He accused the state of “not being serious about resolving the Tarai problem”. Saying that the interim statute has not been fully enforced, he called for the activation of Article 33 of the constitution.
Yadav threatened to launch a decisive agitation if the government fails to implement the 22-point comprehensive peace treaty by November 21. Stating that Maoist activities were against Madhes and the Madhesi people, he accused the government of not showing interest to control these activities. “All groups and parties should join hands to resolve Tarai problems,” he said. Accusing Nepali Congress (NC) cadres of fatally attacking cadres of the MJF in Janakpur last week, he advised the NC “not to apply the Maoists’ style.”
