International biology conference to take place in Dhulikhel

KATHMANDU: The International Conference on Biology and Bio Technology is taking place in Dhulikhel of Kavre district from February 17-21.

The conference is to be jointly organised by KU's Department of Bio Chemistry, Institute of Medicine, Dhulikhel Hospital, Research Institute for Bio Science and Bio Technology Nepal and Institute for Molecular Medicine, Finland.

The participating representatives will present paper to enable the idea for the establishment of first bio bank in Nepal, shared Prajwal Rajbhandari of the organising committee.

The objective of the bio bank is to collect and distribute samples of human blood cells and other body organs for research, informed Rajbhandari. He further added that it will help address preliminary questions related to age, disease, and growth and development of human body.

As many as 17 scientists from Finland, Denmark, Germany, Sweden and India will present their working papers on bio science and bio technology.

The conference will be focused on exploring the importance of bio-banking and trans-national medicine research.
