RAJBIRAJ: The International Maithili Conference is set to be held in Rajbiraj, the district headquarters, from December 22.

Maithili Literary Council of Rajbiraj would be hosting the two-day event at the call of International Maithili Conference Committee.

A joint meeting of the Indian Conference Committee office-bearers and former Presidents and office-bearers of the Council decided to step up necessary preparations for the conference, according to Maithili Council.

Council Secretary Shyam Sundar Yadav informed that around 200 Maithili linguists, literary figures, campaigners and researchers from Nepal and India are expected to participate in the conference.
