'Int'l Girls in ICT Day' marked with morning rally

KATHMANDU: A morning rally was organised on the occasion of 'International Girls in ICT Day' today.

The morning rally was hosted by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT) and Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), among others.

The rally started from Kamaladi and marched along Ghantaghar, Exhibition Road and Putalisdak before converging into a corner meet.

On the occasion, the participants carried placards reading 'Let women join hands for ICT and unleash development in the country', 'Let us assure children's future from ICT', 'Participation of adolescent girls in ICT, effectiveness in the making of digital Nepal' and 'Women's access to technology, translating digital Nepal's dream into action'.

Addressing the corner meet, NTA Chairperson Purswottam Khanal said, this year the international ICT Day has been focused in urban area and that it would be expanded to rural areas in coming years.
