‘Intra-party rift behind NC’s poll debacle’

Hetauda, April 16

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba today attributed intra-party conflict for the party’s loss in the three-tier polls held in the past. He stated that NC activists and leaders had worked to defeat the NC in the polls.

Speaking at a programme in Hetauda, Deuba warned of punishing party leaders and cadres involved in betraying the party in the polls. He expressed sorrow over the loss of discipline in the party. He pledged to discipline the party and take it to a new height. He stated that he would make NC the largest party before he took rest.

Deuba said that despite the party’s loss in the polls, the government under his leadership had held the three tiers of the polls successfully. “The loss of the NC is less important than the implementation of the constitution”, he added.

Flaying Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Deuba said that Oli was not a nationalist leader in the true sense.
