IPWA demands 33 per cent women participation in new Cabinet
KATHMANDU: The Inter Party Women's Alliance has demanded for ensuring 33 per cent women participation in the new Cabinet.
In a press meet organised in the Capital today, the Alliance stated that the democracy would not be strengthened without the participation of women in policy making and implementation.
On the occasion, the Alliance Secretary Mamata Giri said that women have had decisive role in the transformation of economic, social and political affairs in the country. Hence, their notable participation in every organ of the state was essential.
About 41 per cent women have been represented in local level government and one-third in federal and provincial levels.
