Angry over the transfer of teachers, students went on the rampage and vandalised Rautahat’s Katahariya Municipality Office.

A meeting of the municipality had yesterday decided to transfer nine teachers, including a principal, serving at schools in the municipality, elsewhere. Dissatisfied and angry at the decision, students stormed into the municipality office and smashed computers, CCTV cameras, and damaged furniture and window glasses.

After vandalising the municipality office, the angry mob flocked to the Area Police Office of Katahariya and damaged four motorbikes parked on the premises of the office.

Six students involved in the vandalism were held.
