RAUTAHAT, MARCH 25
Rautahat is gradually becoming a hub for people who are up for grabbing government positions by fraud. Tendency of people securing jobs on fake documents, forging signatures and misusing government stamps and getting contract-based is rife in the district.
For a case in point, in Garuda Municipality, the appointment of Raj Bahadur Thakur, who is holding the post of a firstclass non-gazetted officer, has been under controversy. As learnt, a case against him is said to be in process in Kathmandu.
As per sources, Thakur had managed to get a permanent appointment as a first-class non-gazetted officer with the help of a phony committee rigged for the fulfilment of vacancies at the then Basabiti Jigadiya FDC.
Similarly, Shah Nawaj used to work at Alternative Energy in Rajpur Municipality.
Then District Development Committee's Local Development Officer Muktiraj Bhattarai had extended his contract for a few months, but he managed to secure a permanent appointment for himself on the basis of fake documents. Now, he is also facing a case against him at Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority.
Speaking on the matter, former LDO Bhattarai denied any wrongdoing and claimed that his signature was forged.
In another case, Ishanath Municipality's Officer Nanda Kishor Gupta is learnt to be in hiding in India after he was revealed to have forged signatures to make himself acting CAO for the municipality.
Controversies have also arisen after sitting acting chief administrative officer of Garuda Municipality Rambabu Yadav was found to have misused his signature.
