Of the 129 prisoners at the Saptari jail staging fast-unto-death, the condition of 11 is reported to be critical.

The condition of eleven prisoners, including Siya Mandal, Shanti Lal Chaudhari, Ramesh Ram, Anil Shani, Hari Khang, Mangala Sada, Jagadish Bhagat, Bhawani Shah, Tapasi Khang and Surya Narayan Yadav, is critical and fast deteriorating, the agitators said on Monday.

The jailbirds have begun the strike demanding general amnesty since September 24.
