The CK Raut-led Janamat Party has announced highway centric protest , in Saptari to address the demands of farmers from today.
More than half-a-dozen cadres of the party were arrested during the protest at Bhardaha. Two women protesters were injured in a protest. Party leaders and cadres demonstrated early this morning at Bhardaha, Kanchanpur, Rupani, Kathauna, and Kalyanpur-based East-West Highway.
The party district secretary Thaneshwor Sah said that Rubi Sharma and Ekamani Pandit were injured in a clash with police at Bhardaha during the protest.
Sah said that police had arrested Shyam Mandal, Krishna Mandal, Surendra Mandal, Bhogeshwor Sharma, Rajesh Yadav and Shadananda Mukhiya. Party leaders and cadres have started highway centric protest from yesterday demanding that a high-level committee be formed to address the demands put forward by farmers.
