DANG: A pedestrian succumbed to injuries he sustained after being rammed by a jeep at Maurighat of Lalmatiya -5 in Dang, along the East-West Highway on Wednesday.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Sandeep Bhusal (21), a resident of Bhrikuti Municipality of the Kapilvastu district.

Bhusal, who had sustained serious injuries, was rushed to Butwal, but breathed his last on the way to a hospital, according to the Area Police Office, Bhaluwang.

The jeep (Lu 1 Cha 7774) en route to Ghorahi of Dang from Butwal had hit Bhusal at 9:30 pm. The body of the deceased has been kept at the Primary Health Centre, Lamahi, for autopsy.

The police said they have arrested the jeep driver and impounded the vehicle.
