Jhankri makes history in ANNFSU polls

Pokhara, September 26:

The 19th National Conference of the ANNFSU, held in Pokhara today, elected Ram Kumari Jhankri president of the UML-affiliated students’ union. She defeated Gokul Gharti by 527 votes. She is the first woman president of the ANNFSU. Shoviat Dhakal trounced Purushottam

Acharya by 67 votes for the post of vice president. Madhav Dhungel became the general secretary. He beat Upendra Poudel by a margin of 587 votes, while Kishor Bikram Malla became the secretary. He defeated Rupesh Khatiwada.

Nar Bahadur Dhami has been named the treasurer. He defeated Ratna Khatri. Sudhir Saha is the new secretary for Madhes. Ninety-one members were elected in the polls.

Rashmi Acharya, Dilip Neupane, Pramila Acharya, Jeevan Acharya, Ramesh Acharya, Dudh Prasad Ghale, Dronacharya Timilsina were elected from Gandaki zone. Elected unopposed from Dhulagiri are Padam Pani Sahrma, Bhupal Chalise and Sandhya Rijal and Pabitra Bhusal, Heera AC, Yuga Mahato, Sushma Khanal, Laxman Belbasi and Baburam Panthi from Lumbini.
