JHAPA: Most of the women in Muslim community in the southern belt of Jhapa district have started using the means of family planning against their tradition, of late.

It is said that many women have given birth to just two kids after the use of different methods of family planning in the region.

Despite the legal provision for safe abortion, the Muslim women in the region still believe that abortion is a sin.

The women used to visit the health centres secretly for the use of family planning until some years ago, but now the couple come together for the selection of types of family planning, Assistant Health Worker of Chakchaki Health Centre Lamxan Sah said.
