DAMAK: A pedestrian died in Lakhanpur of Jhapa district today after a pickup van hit the elderly.

Manmaya Adhikari (73) of Lakhanpur-1 died after the van (Me 1 Cha 3736) of Gauradaha-based Kankai Gas Industry hit her along the Padajungi-Gaurigunj stretch while the elderly was crossing the road.

Police Inspector Milan Basnet of the Damak Area Police Office said the seriously injured woman died while receiving treatment at the Lifeline Hospital, Damak.
