BIRATNAGAR: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Lal Babu Pandit has said the job of Federal Parliament is to make laws.

Talking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport today, he said members of the federal parliament should support the government's allocation of Rs 40 million in its budget for development of each electoral constituency. He further added that the government was yet to bring necessary guidelines regarding expenditure of the said amount.

The General Administration Minister informed that employees have been deputed to 95 per cent of the top posts at local bodies and they have been carrying out their works. Employees to the remaining positions would be dispatched to their respective workstations by June 15 to provide services to the people.

Minister Pandit further noted that the voluntary retirement scheme for government employees has now been put on hold, and 2,000 employees have retired under regular retirement process so far while the rest have already started the process.

Minister Pandit stated that Federal Civil Service Bill related to the employees has been sent to Ministry of Law. He added that too many employees' unions were not needed in the civil service and suggested having only one elected employees' organisation.

Stating that province public service commission would be set up at the provincial level for recruitment of employees in provinces, he said employees would be recruited only in some necessary technical posts for now.
