Jogbani point sees smooth entry of containers from 3rd countries

MORANG: India has allowed the smooth entry of containers coming to Nepal from third countries via Jogbani border point.

According to Biratnagar-based Rani Customs Office Chief Krishna Basnet, up to 35 containers are entering Nepal via Indian transit route on a daily basis. Hardly 12 containers of third countries had come via the route till three days back. There was a long queue of containers up to five kilometres from Jogbani.

India has permitted the smooth entrance of containers to Nepal from the third countries after a Nepali delegation comprising Industries' Organisation Morang, Morang Trade Association and Customs Officer requested representatives of Indian Customs, administration and security to ease border-based supply operation four days back.
