Journalist Giri released on general date

POKHARA: The Kathmandu District Court has ordered to release Journalist Arjun Giri, who was arrested on the charge of cybercrime, on general date, on Thursday.

A single bench of Justice Ambar Raj Paudel issued the verdict today.

Giri is the editor of Tandav Weekly (tandavweekly.com) and member of Nepal Journalists Forum, Kaski Chapter.

Earlier, CIB had detained Karki from Pokhara, after local businessman Bipendra Batas had filed a defamation case against Giri in Kathmandu, after the weekly published a news on Batas' involvement in a land-fraud case on April 5.
