Journalists honour CA poll winners in Kavre

Kavre, April 25:

The Federation of Nepali Journalists, Kavre chapter, today felicitated newly elected constituent

assembly members from the district.

Organising a function at Banepa, FNJ Kavre executive members congratulated the winners by offering bouquets of flowers. All members elected from Constituencies No 2, 3 and 4 were present on the occasion.

However, Maoist Surya Man Dong, who was elected from Constituency No 1 could not attend the programme, as he was mourning death of his wife in an accident a week ago.

CPN-Maoist candidate Akkal Bahadur Thing, who was elected from Constituency No 2, said the CA polls was a breakthrough to write the constitution by the people themselves. The role of media persons should not be overlooked and the security and rights of the journalists will be guaranteed in the new constitution, he added.

Stating that the weak media cannot institutionalise democracy in the country, the CA member of the CPN-UML said he would always work for the betterment of media.

Maoist’s Tej Bahadur Mijar, who was elected from Constituency No 4, asked all the people to help build new Nepal under the Maoists’ leadership.
