HETAUDA: Mediapersons boycotted a programme attended by CPN-UML president Jhalanath Khanal in Hetauda today, saying they were mistreated by the organisers.

Khanal had arrived to address a zonal meeting of party cadres. At the outset, the mediapersons were asked to leave the venue since the programme had no formal opening. Pratap Bista, central member, FNJ, later announced the boycott of the programme citing misbehaviour. A walkout by the journalists followed the call.

“We waited for Khanal’s arrival for two hours only to be ill-treated,” they said. They have announced to boycott the UML’s press meet slated for tomorrow as well.
