JTMM-J bombs govt office

Mohattari/Rajbiraj, August 5:

Activists of the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha-Jwala Singh detonated a powerful bomb at the land revenue office in Jaleshwor today.

JTMM-J district in-charge Surya said the blast was carried out against the financial irregularities going on in the office. The blast caused no major damage, police said.

A powerful pressure cooker bomb was found planted in APF’s temporary base camp in Saptari’s Rampuramlhaniya VDC along the Nepal-India border today.

The eight-litre pressure cooker bomb, which was planted underground, was traced by police while patrolling in the morning. Nepal Army personnel from Srimehar Battalion dug the bomb out and efforts were on to defuse it on the bank of Koshi river, police said.

APF battalion commander Harka Bahadur Shahi said said the bomb could have destroyed life and property within a radius of 200 meters had it went off. Meanwhile, a bomb disposal team of Nepal Army defused three socket bombs in Dumre Dharapani VDC of Khotang today.
