DAMAULI, JULY 13

CPN-UML-aligned Youth Association Nepal, Tanahun, burned the effigies of Supreme Court justices of the Constitutional Court that had reinstated the dissolved House of Representatives and issued an order to appoint Sher Bahadur Deuba as the prime minister, in Tanahun today.

Police personnel intervened when Youth Association cadres were burning the effigies of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana and other justices of the constitutional Court. YAN cadres had taken out a rally from the party office of CPN-UML, Tanahun. They burnt effigies of the justices at Damauli main chowk.

They also shouted slogans against the justices and their verdict reinstating the House of Representatives and appointment of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the prime minister.

YAN cadres obstructed Prithivi Highway for some time. Police said they had to intervene as YAN cadres had tried to make a mockery of the Supreme Court and its justices.
